Credit: Douglas "Chief" Stankewitz is awaiting a new sentencing hearing in 2023 at the same Fresno County Courthouse where he was convicted in the 1978 kidnapping and murder of Theresa Graybeal, 21. After serving 45 years on San Quentin's Death Row with two death sentences that were later reduced to life without parole, Stankewitz could be eligible for parole. He has maintained his innocence.
